1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Spec4AI Studio (the Android app), Spec4AI Link (the desktop bridge application), or the studio.spec4ai.com website (collectively, "the Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

These terms apply to individual users. If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

2. Description of Services

The Services consist of:

• Spec4AI Studio — an Android application that runs a local MCP (Model Context Protocol) server on your device, allowing AI assistants to access and control device capabilities.
• Spec4AI Link — a desktop application (macOS, Windows, Linux) that bridges your AI assistant (such as Claude Desktop) to the Spec4AI Studio app on your phone over your local network.
• studio.spec4ai.com — the website providing documentation, downloads, and information about the Services.

3. MCP Tools and Device Permissions — Security Notice

Please read this section carefully.

Spec4AI Studio gives AI assistants the ability to call tools that interact with your device — including reading and writing contacts, calendar events, files, location, camera, microphone, and more. You are responsible for:

• Reviewing what permissions you grant. Only grant permissions that you are comfortable sharing with your AI assistant. You can revoke permissions at any time from Android Settings.
• Understanding what your AI assistant can do. When connected, your AI assistant may autonomously call device tools. Review the capabilities you are enabling before establishing a connection.
• Securing your pairing credentials. The PIN used during device pairing should not be shared. Any device paired with Spec4AI Studio has the ability to call its tools.
• Monitoring for unexpected tool usage. Check the Diagnostics section in Settings to review recent tool executions. If you see unexpected activity, unpair your devices immediately.

We are not responsible for any actions taken by your AI assistant using the tools exposed by Spec4AI Studio. You use MCP tool integrations at your own risk.

4. AI and LLM Usage — Cost and Output Warning

Spec4AI Studio works with AI assistants configured in Spec4AI Link. We do not provide AI or LLM services. You are responsible for:

• API costs. If you configure Spec4AI Link to use a cloud AI provider (such as Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google), all API calls go directly to that provider using your credentials. You are solely responsible for any resulting usage charges under your provider subscription or API billing. Heavy use of AI features — particularly web research, app building, and image analysis — can consume significant tokens and increase your costs significantly. Monitor your usage with your provider.
• AI output accuracy. AI-generated responses, code, micro-apps, and recommendations may contain errors, hallucinations, or outdated information. Always verify important outputs before acting on them. Do not rely on AI outputs for medical, legal, financial, or safety decisions.
• Local LLM usage. If using a local LLM via LM Studio or similar, you are responsible for the model license terms and any hardware or energy costs incurred.

5. Security Risks and Responsibilities

While we implement security measures including Ed25519 key pairs, HMAC-SHA256 authentication, and encrypted local storage, no software is completely secure. You acknowledge that:

• Connecting your phone to a desktop AI assistant creates a channel through which your device can be controlled. Keep your devices physically secure.
• The security of your local Wi-Fi network is important. Use a secure, password-protected network when pairing and using the Services.
• MCP servers exposed to the network (if you enable "Bind All Interfaces" in Settings) are accessible to other devices on your network. Only enable this if you understand the implications.
• We are not responsible for security incidents resulting from compromised networks, devices, or AI assistant configurations.

6. In-App Purchases and Billing

Spec4AI Studio offers an optional Creator Mode subscription available through the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Purchases are processed exclusively by the respective store platform under their terms and policies. We do not handle payment information directly.

Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. To cancel, manage your subscription through your Google Play or App Store account settings. We do not offer refunds beyond what the platform policies require.

7. Permitted Use

You agree not to use the Services to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations.
• Access, modify, or delete data on devices you do not own or have authorization to access.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works from the Services without our express permission.
• Use the Services to conduct automated attacks, data scraping, or to harass individuals.
• Distribute malicious micro-apps or MCP tools designed to harm users.

8. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the Services, including software, design, trademarks, and documentation, belong to Spec4AI or its licensors. These terms do not grant you any rights to use our trademarks or branding.

Micro-apps you create using Spec4AI Studio belong to you. We claim no ownership over content you create with the Services.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.

We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any AI-generated output produced through the Services.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SPEC4AI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO YOUR DEVICE, AI-GENERATED ERRORS OR OMISSIONS, OR THIRD-PARTY API COSTS, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICES SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR USD $10, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms periodically. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review these terms periodically.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these terms or the Services shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before resorting to formal legal proceedings.
